NEPALI CLASS 2022-2023

On November 19th, the Society of Nepalese in America (SNA) successfully launched the Nepali Language and Culture Class at Branford Community House. The inauguration ceremony and the first session of the season were attended by approximately 35 students, parents, and guests from Branford, East Haven, Milford, West Haven, New Haven, and neighboring towns. Guests Deborah Conklin, Treasurer of the Town of Branford, Rita Berkson, Chair of the Branford Community Foundation investment committee, District RTM Don Conklin, District RTM Ram Chandra Shrestha, and SNA former president Anju Thakur gave a brief speech and wished the program success. The welcome speech was delivered by SNA Vice President Chiran Neupane. This program was hosted by General Secretary Ravi Khadka.


Purna Bahadur Limbu, SNA president, explained the need for a Nepali Language and Culture class and promised to run it for the entire academic year. This class will be taught by Kalpana Shrestha and Ashmita Ghimire.


Branford Community Foundation provided $1700 in funding, and the Town of Branford Park and Recreation Department provided Community Hall. We are grateful to Judy Barron, Liza Petra, and Jennifer Mullet of the Branford Community Foundation, as well as Alex Pallauzzi Jr., Director of the Town of Branford's Park and Recreation Department.
